F1689 Started and Ended its career with the City of Lake Havasu Fire Department. This is a 1973 Crown Fire Truck two axle fitted with a 100' Maxim Ladder and powered by a Detroit Diesel 8V71 motor with an Allison Automatic Transmission. The Truck was put into reserve status in 2002 and was used to shuttle personnel, equipment and ground ladders. The Truck was but into reserve status because of a leaky hydraulic diverter valve. The outriggers are bolted into the up position. The Truck also has onboard an electric generator that runs on diesel. Sometime during its service life, Lake Havasu added a 35' pre-piped water way. She was sold to a private collector in 2008, who intended to put it to work as a platform for tree service. The Truck did not fit into the plans of tree service and was then sold and acquired in January of 2009. Late in 2013 F#1689 was sold to a CFE Collector and we wish her well.
