CROWN FIRECOACH PUMPER
WOOD HOSE BED DECKING


The wood decking in the hose bed was worn out and falling apart..  This is one of the many components on the pumper that either needed to be restored or duplicated.  The original intention was to restore the wood decking,  Many thanks to FF/PM Ernesto Moreno from the Monrovia Fire Department for helping out with this part of the project.  Ernie, got a hold of retired Engineer Kirk Bates from the Monrovia Fire Department, who's hobby in retirement is wood working.  Kirk duplicated the wood decking to the T with all new oak wood.  Kirk did an excellent job and he his now using the old wood from the pumper to build a cabinet to hold some Fire Department Gear at his house.

I'm taking advantage of the rainy weather and I am assembling the wood decking in the garage.  I hope to have the wood decking back in the pumper by Thanksgiving.
